Job Title: Document Handler, Processing Operative
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: £13.02/£14.90 per hour
Shift: Monday to Friday – 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm

Overview:

We are currently seeking a Document Handler, Processing Operative to join a leading global digital solutions company. This role is based in a fast-paced, target-driven environment, supporting the business’s document management needs through mailroom processing, scanning, and physical document handling.

You will need to be flexible, multi-skilled, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. This is a full-time, site-based position — remote work is not available.

Seasonal Project – Expected to run for 4-6 Months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, process, and log incoming mail and documentation
  • Perform security/threat checks on inbound items
  • Open, batch, register, validate, and scan documents into digital systems
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure document imaging and data indexing meet set standards
  • Retrieve and store physical documents accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain activity targets (APH – Activities Per Hour) and meet service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Carry out manual handling tasks safely and effectively
  • Work in line with company values and standards at all times

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a mailroom, scanning, or warehouse environment
  • Ability to work to productivity targets and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Comfortable using basic computer systems for data entry and tracking
  • Physically fit and willing to perform manual handling tasks
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Safety shoes are required
  • Must pass a DBS check and provide 3 years of references
  • Must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years and have the legal right to work

Additional Information:

  • Training provided – full support will be given to ensure you are equipped to succeed in the role
  • Please note: Occasional days will be permitted, but no block weeks. No holidays will be approved during the January peak period or on any dates that coincide with on site training.
  • You must be able to reliably commute to Hemel Hempstead. Using your own transportation.
