We are seeking a reliable and experienced Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing inventory, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring smooth warehouse distribution processes. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, safety protocols, and materials handling to support order fulfillment. Previous warehouse experience, including forklift and reach truck operation, is highly desirable but not essential to contribute to our fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Manage inventory control using warehouse management systems
  • Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and pallet jacks safely and effectively (refresher courses may be offered)
  • Assist with stock stocking, order picking & packing, and order fulfillment processes
  • Load & unload shipments accurately while adhering to safety standards (OSHA compliance)
  • Perform materials handling tasks involving heavy lifting and mechanical knowledge for packaging and assembly
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors on inventory management and process improvements

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, including inventory management and materials handling
  • Valid certification or experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and other heavy equipment (Not essential but desired)
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse environments
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs or troubleshooting on equipment
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control and order accuracy
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Previous experience in shipping & receiving, order picking & packing, or manufacturing environments is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
